Junior Lamp was born Cheikh Marema Diop in Dakar 07 November 1983. I am the third child of the family. I did but his primary education in school Ahmadu Ibrahim until the age of 12 years after I started schooling has ASSAD when I got my license I was transferred to school Maurice De La Fausse. I attended there 2 years and I left school in 2002. I started my musical career in 2003 after having left the school with the support of many friends. I recorded my first single "Sant" in 2003 which was a great success in Senegal and many schools calling me for their school concert and I had great success. I am inspired by my idol Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Capleton, Sizzla.
I see myself as a normal person who likes to be around positive people. I also like to be around the poor because I can identify with their feelings and through my lyrics I can offer some words of hope to them. Being around them reminds me of who I am and where I came from. One of my greatest joys is to help people to rise and for me life is the greatest gift so I always give as much as I can to life and life gives back to me.
